Additional requirements for teaching courses 

Most teaching courses have additional requirements that need to be completed to be eligible for an offer into a teaching program. 

It’s important to read through the course listing in VTAC's CourseSearch for each course you are applying for, as each course may have different requirements. 

Casper test 

For most courses, the Casper test is required, which can be booked through the Acuity Insights website here. The Casper test is a situational judgement test made up of various scenarios to gain insight about things such as empathy, communication and motivation.

Other options 

For some courses, there may be alternatives to the Casper test, meaning you can choose between sitting the Casper test, or choosing an alternative option. For example, Australian Catholic University has the Teacher Selection Statement, or Monash University has the Monash Teaching Suitability Test (MTeST).
