La Trobe College Australia is your pathway into a wide range of bachelor degrees at La Trobe University.
The subjects you'll study are equivalent to first year of a bachelor degree at La Trobe University, and once you have successfully completed the diploma and met all requirements, you'll move into second year of a university degree.
Progression is guaranteed as long as you meet all requirements, however some courses require a higher Weighted Average Mark (WAM) and a quota may apply. Please see individual course listings for details.
We are located in the Sylvia Walton Building at La Trobe University, Melbourne Campus in Bundoora, so you'll get the full university experience from day one, with access to university facilities.
Students study 8 subjects in a chosen diploma, which includes approximately 4 hours of class per subject every week. The standard duration for a diploma is three trimesters or 12 months. You can enrol in three subjects in the first, three subjects in the second trimester and two in the third trimester.
It is also possible to fast-track your studies to complete the diploma in two trimesters (8 months) by studying four subjects in each of the first two trimesters. Each trimester includes 12 weeks of teaching and final exams. Assessment for all subjects includes tests, assignments and case-study analysis.
You can also package your diploma program with a bachelor degree at the university. This means that you will receive an unconditional offer for the diploma pathway, and a conditional offer for your bachelor degree. Once you've met all diploma progression requirements, you'll progress into the bachelor part of your package.
How is La Trobe College Australia different?
1. Campus lifestyle with access to university accommodation, social events, facilities, clubs and societies whilst studying your diploma.
2. Three-trimester intake over 12 months meaning greater flexibility with start times, and depending on your course, the ability to fast-track your diploma.
3. Personalised learning environment with smaller class sizes and greater access to academic staff to ensure that you are successful in your studies.
4. Flexible entry criteria with a greater emphasis on work experience and ability to succeed rather than ATAR.
We look forward to welcoming you on campus soon.
