Admission criteria

Entrance requirements

To successfully enter into any accredited higher education qualification at the Australasian College of Health and Wellness, you must meet academic requirements specific to your course and the following general requirements:

- Be 18 years of age or older;
- If you are not a native English speaker, you must provide evidence of English Proficiency at IELTS 6.0 with no band below 5.5; and
- Participate in an interview to determine your study and career goals and overall
suitability.

ACHW will consider any additional documentation that demonstrates your eligibility for our programs.

In addition to the admission requirements set out above, all courses with practical clinic training elements require applicants to present evidence of Hepatitis B immunisations. Students will not be permitted to attend clinical workshops without providing immunisation evidence.

Recognition of Prior Learning and Credit Transfer

Students who have previously completed study or have experience in related industries may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning. Students could be entitled for up to a maximum of 50% credit towards a higher education qualification at the Australasian College of Health and Wellness.

Additionally, if you have completed a SHB50115 or SHB50121 Diploma of Beauty Therapy, you will receive credit for AHS101 Integumentary System and CAP101 Introduction to Clinical Practice.

Otherwise, you may apply for exemptions from units in the course based on your previous experience, either professionally or academically.

Study Pathways

The Australasian College of Health and Wellness supports diverse learning journeys, ensuring that students who are committed to proving their eligibility to succeed in this industry will have a study pathway available.

Suppose you are interested in studying our Bachelor of Applied Health Science (Clinical Aesthetics), but do not meet the academic entry requirements. In that case, you may still qualify for entry into one of our Undergraduate Certificates. Successful completion of this course can be used to demonstrate your eligibility for the bachelor's degree, and since the Undergraduate Certificates are comprised of units from the Bachelor of Applied Health Science (Clinical Aesthetics), you will be eligible to transfer those credits.

Academic Learning Advisors

To ensure you make the most of your study, you will be supported by a dedicated network of advisors and peers. Your Academic Learning Advisor will assist with academic and writing skills, a peer mentor will provide industry advice and study tips, while an assigned student mentor will coordinate study groups, assist with study, and create interactive spaces for you to catch up with your peers.
