For over 20 years, AIT continues to deliver education for the creative and tech industries that places graduates at the top of their game. We offer Higher Education bachelors & diplomas in Film, 2D Animation, 3D Animation, Mobile Apps Development, Games Design and Games Programming which are designed to mirror the way these industries work. Our teachers are industry practitioners and we place a strong focus on creating opportunities for you to get your work recognised and network with key organisations in the business. We do this through internships, mentorships, master talk presentations, industry events, awards nights and our close affiliation with partners such as the APDG, Unreal Engine, Toon Boom, Wacom, Adobe, the Australian Computer Society and many more..

Our award-winning campus is conveniently located opposite Southern Cross Station in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD. It features industry-standard equipment and the latest industry software installed on every computer throughout campus, as well as an industry-standard Post-Production Studio, computer labs, and green screen room. Our classes are small which allows us to deliver more personalised tuition based on your level of skill, experience and progression. We pride ourselves on knowing you by name and we take the time to invest in your creative aspirations.

The Interactive Media industry is an exciting and creative community that is set to expand over the coming decades. So that you feel ready to take your place in this community, our programs are designed to give you maximum practical experience on current industry-grade software. Programs are structured so you gradually deepen your craft and graduate with a significant industry-grade portfolio. We also strongly support you to build professional highly-valued communication, collaboration and other soft skills you will need to confidently work in professional creative teams and bring your creative visions to life.
WE CONNECT YOU TO INDUSTRY
We provide regular opportunities for you to connect with industry and to gain direct feedback on your work. We have an internship program which is offered as an elective (subject to eligibility criteria) in all Bachelor programs and we regularly host first-class events and Master Talk presentations with some of the biggest names in the business - such as the Oscar-winning sound designers on Hacksaw Ridge to the Animation team behind Peter Rabbit. In our Bachelor programs, in your third year you will work with your peers to produce your final industry-ready showcase piece to be premiered at our .Motion graduation and awards event attended by a panel of industry representatives.

Admission criteria
BACHELOR DEGREE
- Completion of year 12 or equivalent; OR
- Completion of year 11 or equivalent with Year 11 results, a support letter from a parent or guardian & screening interview; OR
- Certificate IV, VET Diploma or Higher Education Diploma (completion); OR
- Successful completion of one year of full-time study in a degree course at a higher education provider; OR
- Admission via non-academic criteria may include demonstrated interest or experience in relevant fields or work. Students may be asked to demonstrate this through a short written piece, interview and or portfolio

Our academic staff are industry experts with experience across a range of creative professional environments. Many of the teachers are working in industry on large global projects while teaching you, exposing you to insider industry knowledge. Our classes are small which allows us to deliver more personalised tuition based on your level of skill, experience and progression. Our committed support team are there to help you with any challenge you might have. We will know your name and take the time to invest in your creative aspirations.
Our campus is conveniently located opposite Southern Cross Station in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD. The latest software being used by 3D Animators is installed on every campus computer, with industry-standard Film and Interactive Media equipment for you to borrow for your projects. Onsite we have a GreenScreen Room with Audio Booth, and have just installed state-of-the-art Animation Computer Labs and Post-Production Studio.

Academy of Information Technology's initiAIT scholarship allows new students to secure a 50% contribution towards their tuition fees in their first and last terms of study. Three recipients in Melbourne will be awarded this scholarship during 2024 - one for each intake (February, May, and September).
