At Monash, we've been driving change for decades. We've harnessed our knowledge, capability, creativity and scale to make real change, every second of every day. Today we have the momentum to create the future we need for generations to come.
Whether you want to change your life, your career, your community or the world, your journey starts at Monash.
A global community
When you join Monash, you become part of a global community committed to improving the world. With our main base in Australia, campuses in Malaysia, Indonesia, China, India and Italy, and joint partnerships with leading international teaching institutions – our global network is connected by its shared values and a commitment to the communities they serve.
While each Monash campus has its own personality, all are friendly, inclusive and welcoming communities where you'll feel at home.
Unique experiences
We offer unique, transformative experiences that will help set you up for success. Choose from global, industry, volunteering, and research and discover units that are designed to link your learning in the classroom to industry and practical experience. You'll develop highly sought-after innovation, intercultural and entrepreneurial skills that will set you apart, and empower you to positively impact local and global communities.
Optimism
Making a difference takes energy and idealism, as well as experience and wisdom. As a young university, our outlook is progressive and optimistic. We’re not mired in cynicism, tradition, or convention. We attract the best scholars, but we're not elitist. We open our doors to anyone who’s prepared to work hard to make a difference.
Collaboration
From collaborative research opportunities to building community relationships, our focus is always on how we can empower our people to make a positive impact on the world. Shared ambitions move us forward, faster. The more relevant, useful and powerful connections we can make, the greater our impact will be.
Still learning
Our motto Ancora Imparo (‘I am still learning’) reminds us that the search for knowledge never ends. We’re driven by a restless ambition that pushes us to do things better, to set new benchmarks, and to break new ground.
In order for our students and staff to positively impact their communities and the world, we must equip them and inspire them to create their own change.
Our history
We’re a product of a proud history. If you'd like to find out more about where we've come from, you can read more here.

Elite Student Performer Entry Scheme
Monash is committed to helping students combine academic success with sporting or performing arts success. We know that for an elite athlete or performer, your ATAR might not accurately reflect your ability. We acknowledge the commitment and time it takes to be at the elite level and how this can affect your studies.
So if you're an elite level athlete or performer, you may be eligible for Monash University’s Elite Student Performer Entry Scheme.
Elite student performers and athletes who qualify under this scheme will receive an adjustment factor of up to 10 ATAR points. To be eligible, you must have been competing/performing at an elite level concurrently with your schooling and meet the range of requirements to be considered.
Once enrolled, we also provide a range of support services and benefits to help you balance your commitments to both your studies and your sport/discipline and we assist you with managing any conflicts that may arise.
Applications are made directly to Monash University following the opening of VTAC applications. For more information and eligibility criteria please go here.

Access & equity through VTAC (SEAS):
At Monash, we know that not everyone's story is the same. Life can get in the way of study and we know your ATAR may not reflect your true academic ability.
No matter the circumstances, we recognise and support talent. That's why we offer two schemes - the Monash Guarantee and the Equity schemes (SEAS), that can help you enter your preferred course by considering your life circumstances.
The Monash Guarantee can get you into a Monash course even if you don't reach the lowest selection rank for your preferred course. You may be eligible for the Monash Guarantee if you have experienced financial disadvantage, live or study in a regional area, are an Indigenous Australian, live in a low socio-economic area or attend a Monash under-represented school. For more information and eligibility criteria visit our website. To apply for the Monash Guarantee, submit your equity schemes (SEAS) application through VTAC.
Equity schemes (SEAS) adjusts your ATAR in recognition of circumstances that may have affected your education. This gives you a better chance of getting an offer for the course you want. You'll receive ATAR-related adjustments depending on the severity of your circumstances. If you're eligible for SEAS, the adjustments are made to your combined study score and your selection rank estimate is recalculated. Then, your SEAS adjusted ATAR is used when making course offers. Check out our equity schemes (SEAS) calculator for an estimate of your SEAS-adjusted ATAR.
If you don't meet the course requirements, there are other ways to become a Monash student. See what pathways we have available at Monash University.
