Admission criteria
Higher Education - Entrance requirements (All Applicants)
Eligibility points are a combination of ATAR score, previous study, work experience and other factors. Individual course admission criteria can be found under each course of study. Click here.
Applicants are advised to provide as much evidence as possible to support their application. This may include transcripts of units or subjects of study, academic awards and certificates, academic letters of reference, detailed résumé, position descriptions, employment references, personal letters of reference, medical certificates, health care card, community recognition and awards and personal statements.

Higher Education - Entrance requirements (Applicants with Higher Education study)
Applicants who have successfully completed 50% of subjects attempted during a formal study period at Bachelor level or above may be awarded the minimum number of eligibility points required for course entry.
Any individual course admission requirements must also be met.

Applicants who have successfully completed VET study at:
AQF4 or above may be awarded the minimum number of eligibility points for course admission.
AQF3 and below may contribute to the minimum number of eligibility points required for course admission. The remaining eligibility points may be awarded based on equity and other considerations.

All applicants for undergraduate and post graduate courses of study at William Angliss must achieve the minimum eligibility points for course admission. Applicants who left or completed secondary school more than 2 years ago are considered mature age and awarded eligibility points on that criteria. The remaining points may be awarded based on some or all of the following:

- Work experience that is clearly aligned to the specialist fields of William Angliss Institute: Foods, Tourism, Hospitality and Events.

Higher Education - Recognition of Prior Learning
You may be entitled to credit for prior learning, whether formal or informal. Formal learning can include previous study in higher education, vocational education, or adult and community education. Informal learning can include on the job learning or various kinds of work and life experience. Credit can reduce the amount of study needed to complete a degree.

Access & equity through VTAC
William Angliss Institute is committed to providing an equitable selection process that allows each student the opportunity to reach their true potential. The Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) enables our selection officers to grant special consideration where applicable. To be eligible applicants must also submit a VTAC course application and satisfy all relevant course entry requirements.

Enrolment
Acceptance of offer
Successful applicants who have applied through VTAC will receive a notification of an offer via VTAC. William Angliss Institute will send out a formal letter of offer which will include information on how to accept your and enrolment instructions, or how to enrol by proxy, and how to defer.

Recognition of Prior Learning
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) - also known as Skills Recognition or Credit Transfer - is a process that evaluates and recognises the skills and knowledge you have gained from work experience, work-based training, life experience and previous study. It allows your experience to be formally recognised.
Applying for Skills recognition can shorten the duration of your study time, give you a formal qualification and enhance your future career prospects.

The William Angliss Institute Foundation provides educational opportunities and financial assistance to support students in achieving their career ambitions. The Foundation has been established in recognition of the pioneering work in the areas of hospitality and foods by the late Sir William Charles Angliss.
Through a scholarship fund built on the generous support of our many friends and industry partners, the Foundation provides ongoing assistance to students and the wider community through the establishment of various scholarship programs across the Institute.
