Dashboard checklist

Summary: The checklist on your applicant dashboard lets you know about documents or other evidence you need to provide to VTAC. It also informs you about additional tasks you need to complete to be eligible for courses in your preference list.

Understanding the checklist

While the checklist summarises the documents and evidence required for your course application, it’s important to note that it is not an exhaustive list and that applicants should review all course criteria on VTAC CourseSearch.

1 Documents

You may be required to submit documents in support of your application.

Educational background

VTAC can access most Australian and some New Zealand results. If yours can’t be accessed, you will be notified and asked to supply evidence of your qualification/results.

Equity schemes & scholarships

You may be required to provide supporting evidence for your equity schemes and scholarships application. This may be a statement of support, Centrelink document, or other.

English-language proficiency and tests

Some courses, such as nursing, require all applicants to demonstrate English language proficiency through a statement.  Depending on your applicant type, you may also be required to complete an English-language test such as IELTS, TOEFL, Pearson Test of English and the Occupational English Test.

2 Course requirements

Courses may set additional criteria for entry. These can be the VTAC Personal Statement, admissions and aptitude tests, declarations or specific tasks.

VTAC Personal Statement

The VTAC Personal Statement is available for applicants to provide relevant information that is not collected as part of the VTAC course application, such as:

  • Motivation for study
  • Work experience
  • Community experience
  • Academic performance
  • Languages other than English
  • Other relevant information

Declarations and statements

Various courses require applicants to submit statements or complete declarations as part of their criteria.

Aptitude and admissions tests

Aptitude and admissions tests help institutions determine an applicant’s suitability for a course. An admissions test will measure academic ability under exam-conditions, while an aptitude test is a broader assessment that measures non-academic attributes.

Other selection tasks

Other selection tasks can include interviews, auditions, supplementary forms or folios.

warning
The additional tasks checklist is not exhaustive. There may be other requirements for your course preferences and additional admissions criteria (including subject prerequisites). View individual courses in your list on CourseSearch for a full list of criteria.
