When will I receive an offer?
The table below outlines the mid-year 2026 offer round schedule. Based on your results status, you may only be eligible for later offer rounds. VTAC assesses applications after receiving your school or tertiary results.
| Offer rounds | Offers released |
|---|---|
| June Round 1 | 23 June (2pm) |
| July Round 1 | 3 July (2pm) |
| July Round 2 | 14 July (2pm) |
| July Round 3 | 21 July (2pm) |
See Offer rounds by applicant type for a guide to when you may receive an offer.
Getting your offer
Offers are emailed to applicants on the day of release and available in the VTAC account from 2pm the same day. To be considered for offers, you must pay your course application processing fee on time. All offer dates and payment deadlines are on the Dates and fees page.
January offer round 1 offers may also be published by newspapers (in print and/or online) with your permission. You give this permission either at the time of applying, or later in your VTAC user account. If you want to change your permission, see Permission to publish offers.
What if I don't receive an offer?
If you don't receive an offer, don't panic.
You may still be eligible for a supplementary offer. Alternatively, you can check out other courses listed with VTAC and change your preferences as many times as you like, at no additional cost, throughout January and February.
There are many ways to reach your study and career goals. Many insitutions offer pathways into courses as an alternative way to get into the course you want.
Note: If you didn't receive an offer and want to find out why, contact the institution directly to discuss this.
How the offer system works
Selection is the responsibility of each institution's course selection authorities. After the course selection authorities have considered your application, they will advise VTAC whether they wish to offer you a place in the course. VTAC advises you, via your VTAC account, of the highest offer on your preference list (if any).
Most course places are allocated in the first January offer round. In subsequent offer rounds, you will be considered for course preferences higher than any offer/s you have received in each round (if any). VTAC will again advise you of the highest offer made (if any).
For a detailed look into how the offers system works and answers to other common questions about course offers, download Understanding offers (PDF) .
Note: If you do not pay your course application processing fee by the due date, your application will not be sent to the course selection authorities and you will not be considered for offers.

All offers are provisional
Any offer you receive is subject to you:
- meeting eligibility requirements,
- having provided full and correct information on your VTAC application, and
- attending enrolment at the date and time specified in your offer message.
If you don't meet these requirements, your offer may lapse or be withdrawn.
How many offers?
You can receive a maximum of one offer per offer round. You can continue to receive offers in later offer rounds by changing your preference list.
If you do not receive any offers by February you may be eligible for a supplementary offer.
Changing your preferences
You can change your course preferences between offer rounds as many times as you choose. Before adding a preference, always check the selection criteria to ensure you have met all course requirements. For more information see Change your course preferences.
If you received an offer in one round, and wish to also be considered for courses lower on your preference list in future rounds, you can change your preferences by moving the course that you have been offered below any courses you would still like to be considered for by the relevant change of preference date. Note: Please only move the offered course to below courses you would genuinely consider (not to the lowest preference place).
Accepting an offer and enrolment
Receiving an offer does not confirm your enrolment in the course. To secure your place, you must follow the enrolment instructions in your offer message. In some cases you may be required to attend enrolment in person on a specific date and time. If you are unable to attend at the specified time, you should ask whether the institution allows an authorised nominee (someone you choose) to enrol on your behalf.
Deferment
VTAC does not administer the deferment process for individual institutions. If you wish to defer your offer, you must ensure that deferment is available and then follow the instructions outlined on individual institutional websites. For links to these websites, visit the institutional pages.
Offer rounds
Offers are released to applicants at different times (referred to as 'offer rounds'). For offer round dates, see dates and fees page.
For courses commencing in mid-year 2026 or in February/March 2027, there will be offer rounds for:
- Current Year 12 students - domestic
- Current Year 12 students - international
- Post-school (non-Year 12) applicants - domestic
For institutional policy statements about participation in offer rounds, refer to the institutional pages.

Mid-year offer rounds
Offer rounds commence in late June. There are several rounds for mid-year offers. Not all institutions participate in each offer round. Mid-year offers are made to post-school applicants and some year 12 students studying on the Norther Hemisphere Timetable (NHT) only.
November (post-school) and December (Year 12) offer rounds
Institutions may start making offers from November for some courses and to some applicant types. If you receive an offer in one of the rounds below, you will still be automatically considered for higher preferences in later offer rounds.
- November offer rounds domestic (post-school applicants only)
- December offer round (current year 12 students only)
Most courses (but not all) participate in the November and December offer rounds. A list of courses participating in the November offer round will be published closer to the release date.
If you receive an offer in these rounds, but wish to also be considered for courses lower on your preference list, change your preferences by moving the course that you have been offered below any courses you would still like to be considered for by the relevant change of preference date. Note: Please only move the offered course to below courses you would genuinely consider (not to the lowest preference place).
January offer round
All courses are required to participate in the first round of offers in January:
- January offer round 1 domestic
- January offer round 1 international
All other offer rounds are optional and will depend on the number of places available and other factors.
Subsequent rounds
After January offer round 1, there are subsequent rounds.
- If you received an offer, you will still be automatically considered for higher preferences in later offer rounds.
- If you didn't receive an offer you will still be considered for course offers in future rounds.
- If want to change your preferences, add new courses to your preference list or be considered for a course listed lower than an offer already received, you can change your preferences throughout January and February.
Course authorities can only make offers in future rounds if there are places available—some courses may fill their quotas in the previous rounds. Your chances of receiving an offer in the next round will vary for each course. There is a list of courses unlikely to make further offers that is regularly updated when courses are full.
Supplementary offers
The supplementary offer process allows courses with vacancies to make offers to certain VTAC applicants who have not previously applied for the course.
Supplementary offers usually commence in February. Dates are on the VTAC Dates page.
You may receive supplementary offers if you:
- are a domestic applicant (current Year 12 or post-school)
- have not received an offer listed on your course preference list.
If you do not want to be considered for supplementary offers, you can amend permission in your VTAC account under 'My profile' > 'Manage permissions'. Check the VTAC Dates page for deadlines on changing permissions. Supplementary offers will be processed weekly.
If you receive two or more offers at the same time, you will need to choose which offer to accept – you should not accept more than one offer.
To discuss supplementary offers with institutions or find out further information, you can contact them or follow the links on the Supplementary contact information page

You must also not be a student currently completing a senior secondary qualification.
If you meet the above criteria, you are eligible for offers in mid-year and from the November offer round domestic. To be eligible, VTAC needs to access your results. Most VTAC applicants do not need to provide VTAC with documentation, including most Australian and some New Zealand results. If you are required to supply documentation, you will be notified by VTAC as a part of the application process. For more information, see Providing evidence.
