How to Reset Your VTAC Password This article provides step-by-step instructions for resetting your password as a logged in user, or if you are unable to log in due to a forgotten password.

Step-by-step instructions (logged-in user):

  1. Navigate to personal details
    • From your account homepage, click on "Edit personal details" in the top left corner under your account ID information.
  2. Click on "Change password"
    • Scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click on the “Change password" button.
  3. Enter your email and password
    • Enter your email address and existing password on 'Change your password' page that follows.
  4. Complete multi-factor authentication
    • Click 'Send Code' and input the code sent to the phone number you used to register your account, or alternatively select the 'Call Me' option, answer the phone call you receive and follow the prompts.
  5. Input your old password.
    • Type in the old password you wish to update.
  6. Create your new password, and confirm
    • Type in your new password, and confirm it by typing it in once more.

Step-by-step instructions (forgotten password):

  1. Navigate to VTAC login screen
    • Click the “Login” button on the VTAC home page to navigate to the account login screen.
  2. Click "Forgot your password?" link
    • Click the link under the email and password fields to follow the password reset steps.
  3. Verify your email address
    • Enter the email address you used to register your account, click “Send verification code”, and then input the code that is sent to your email address. Click “Verify code” to proceed
  4. Click “Continue” to change password
    • Click “Continue” button to proceed with changing your password.
  5. Complete multi-factor authentication
    • Click 'Send Code' and input the code sent to the phone number you used to register your account, or alternatively select the 'Call Me' option, answer the phone call you receive and follow the prompts.
  6. Create your new password, and confirm
    • Type in your new password, and confirm it by typing it in once more.
  7. Log in to your account using your new password

    • Proceed with logging in to your account by using your email address and newly created password.

Steps to update your email address:

  1. Log into your VTAC account
    • Use your registered email address and password to sign in.
  2. Navigate to the personal details page
    • You can find this page by selecting it from the drop-down menu in the 'My profile' tab or by clicking 'Edit personal details' in the top left-hand corner of your home page.
  3. Create a change request
    • Scroll to the bottom of the page and select 'Create request' under the 'Change personal details' heading.
  4. Select the type of change request
    • From the drop-down menu, choose 'Email address' and click 'Next'.
  5. Enter your new email address
    • Type in the updated email address you wish to use.
  6. Complete multi-factor authentication
    • Follow the prompts to verify your identity and complete the request.
Once completed, your email address will be updated in your VTAC account.

Updating Your Citizenship Status

If your residency or citizenship status has changed, you must update VTAC, as this may affect your course eligibility. You can only request this change after receiving your new residency or citizenship document.

How to Update Your Citizenship Details:

  1. Log in to your VTAC account.
  2. Click "Edit personal details" under your name in the top left corner of the home page.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the Personal Details page and select "Create request" under the Change Personal Details section.
  4. Choose "Citizenship" as the type of change and click Next.
  5. Enter your updated residency/citizenship details.
  6. Upload your new residency/citizenship document and click Submit.

Once your request is processed, you will receive a confirmation email.

Updating Personal Details in Your VTAC Account

You can update most of the information under the Personal Details section of your account by editing the fields and clicking Submit at the bottom of the page.

The following details must be updated in your VTAC account by submitting a change request:

  • Current name
  • Date of birth
  • Email address
  • Mobile number
  • Citizenship details

To process your request, you must provide supporting evidence, such as a change of name certificate, marriage certificate, or visa documentation, depending on the update type.

How to Submit a Change Request

  1. Log into Your VTAC Account and navigate to the Personal Details page
    • Click on ‘My Profile’ and select ‘Personal Details’, or click ‘Edit Personal Details’ from your home page.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click ‘Create Request’ under the ‘Change Personal Details’ section.
  3. Choose the update type from the drop-down menu and click ‘Next’.
  4. Provide your updated name, date of birth, email address, mobile number, or citizenship details.
  5. If required, upload the necessary official documents to request the change the change. Select the document type and click ‘Add Files’ to upload, then click 'Submit'.
  6. If updating your email or mobile number, complete the multi-factor authentication process for identity verification.

Tracking Your Request

  • Your request will appear as ‘Pending’ in your request log.
  • VTAC staff will review your request, which will be marked as Approved or Rejected once processed.
  • You can check your request log for updates on the status.
