Managing Additional Services and Marketing Permissions
The Additional Services and Marketing Permission allows VTAC to contact you to notify about services related to your application. The permission is selected by default when you create your VTAC account, however, you can change this setting at any time.How to Update Your Preferences

Access Manage Permissions – Go to "My Profile" and select "Manage Permissions" from the dropdown menu.

Opt-Out of Additional Services and Marketing – Unselect the checkbox for Additional Services and Marketing.
Your preferences will be updated immediately.
Personal Information and Location permissions
Personal Information and Location permissions are required to be considered under certain circumstances for your Equity Schemes (SEAS) and Scholarships application. To be considered for the below circumstances, this option must be selected in your account.These circumstances include:
- Age
- Recognition as an Indigenous Australian
- Living or school location
- Under-represented school or gender
- Non-English speaking background
- First in family to attend university
Research Permissions
In the Manage Permissions section of your VTAC account, you can choose whether to allow the use of anonymous sensitive information for research purposes. Opting in means VTAC may share de-identified, aggregated data with third parties for research. If you prefer not to participate, you can opt-out by unchecking the box in Manage Permissions. This decision will not affect your application.
Authorised Nominee
An authorised nominee is an individual designated by a VTAC applicant through their application or VTAC account. The nominee’s level of access determines the information they can discuss with VTAC on the applicant’s behalf. Applicants can manage their nominees and their access permissions via the Manage Permissions page.
Access Permissions
Applicants can authorise their nominee to discuss:
- Profile details
- Course application
- Course offers
- Documentation
- Equity schemes & scholarships
VTAC can only discuss the information explicitly authorised by the applicant. Login details cannot be provided to an authorised nominee and must be obtained directly from the applicant.
Supplementary offers permission
You are automatically opted-in to be considered for supplementary offers when you submit your course application. Supplementary offers may be made to you in the event that you don't receive offers for any courses on your preference list.
If you don't wish to be considered for supplementary offers, you can manage or update this permissions via the Manage Permissions page. Ensure your permissions are finalised before the deadline, which can be found on the VTAC dates page.

Publishing Offers Permission
The "Publish Offers" checkbox in your VTAC permissions page determines whether you consent to VTAC publishing your first-round offer in a metropolitan or regional newspaper. You can opt-out of this at any time.
How to edit your permissions:
- Log in to your VTAC account.
- Click on the "My Profile" tab in the top left corner.
- Select "Manage Permissions."
- To allow VTAC to publish your offer, check the box next to "Publish Offers."
- To opt out, simply leave the box unchecked.
