Does my client’s application go through VTAC?

Only the following categories of applicant may apply through VTAC:

  • Australian citizens and permanent residents, New Zealand citizens
  • International students studying an Australian Year 12 (e.g. VCE, HSC, WACE) either in Australia or outside Australia
  • an international student currently enrolled at The University of Melbourne applying to transfer to another course at The University of Melbourne
  • a temporary resident or someone who is planning to obtain a student visa who is currently studying or has finished the NCEA in New Zealand with no tertiary studies applying to Monash University.

If your client is not in any of the above categories, they will need to make a direct application to the institution. Please refer to the website of the institution offering the course for more information on this process.

How do I submit an application through VTAC?

Students will be able to nominate their agent via their VTAC account from 3 September 2025. From this date, applicants will be able to login to the portal and add their agent to their application.

How do I become an accredited agent?

Agents are accredited by individual VTAC member institutions, not by VTAC. For more information about VTAC member institutions, please refer to the Institutions section of the VTAC website.

Do I need to register with VTAC?

VTAC does not currently have an agent log-in facility or any other agent registration process. Your clients can list the agency when completing the VTAC course application which gives you the ability to make enquiries on their behalf in relation to the application.
