Applicants considered under this category are:
449, 785, 786, 790, and bridging visa holders awaiting the outcome of a humanitarian visa.
The above Temporary Residency visa holders are eligible for the following through VTAC*
International Fee Place (IFP)
IFPs are type-3 courses (course codes that end in 3). This means the course you enrol in will require you to pay the full fee, and you won't be able to apply for any HECS-HELP government loans.
Therefore, it's important to understand what scholarships are available to financially support your tertiary studies.

Reminders
- *If currently studying an Australian year 12. Those holding eligible visas that are not currently studying an Australian year 12 will most likely submit a direct application to the institution.
- If you apply during the timely application period, you lock-in the lowest fee for your VTAC application. Timely applications close at 5pm on 1 October. The fee is $80 for year 12 students, and $100 for all others.
- If you have any studies that you have completed overseas, you will need to provide official supporting documentation. For more information, go to overseas qualifications.
- Make sure you check to see if you meet the English language requirement of the institutions you are interested in. Each institution will have their own English language requirements, so if you unsure you should speak to them directly.
- Some institutions also require applicants to sit a Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT). For more information see the STAT section of the VTAC website and speak to institutions directly to see if this is required.
- You also need to check to see if you have or will meet all other course requirements for the courses you are applying for. You can research courses and their requirements through VTAC's CourseSearch.
