In the VTAC application portal, it is essential that students’ 2025 education record matches what is provided to VTAC, specifically:

  • Name with correct spelling
  • Date of birth in the format of dd/mm/year
  • Student number details, noting that this needs to be the student’s VCAA student number not VTAC ID (which starts with “6”).

Please check and correct details to ensure a smooth application process.

The application portal currently allows multiple pieces of evidence to be uploaded for approval and then submitted.  If uploaded evidence is approved but you would like to upload further documentation, please contact VTAC Connect by phone on 03 9926 1020 or via email through your account.

Additionally, you are able to request up to eight online statement of support requests that can be sent via email to your nominated responsible person(s).  Notification of online statements will occur only once the equity schemes (SEAS) & scholarships application is submitted.

International applicants can now nominate their agent in the application portal by selecting from a drop-down list under the ‘Complete additional tasks’ section on the homepage. Students can choose an agent for each course preference.

Applicants can apply for scholarships through VTAC without submitting a course application. Examples of individuals not applying for courses through VTAC, who may wish to submit a scholarships application, include those:

  • applying for Victorian courses through UAC (the Universities Admissions Centre in New South Wales)
  • already enrolled in a tertiary course
  • deferred
  • who want to transfer between tertiary courses, or
  • who are applying for courses directly to the institution.
La Trobe University, Victoria University, and Swinburne University offer three types of scholarships, learn more here.

Updates on scheduled maintenance are available at Service status, with 24-48 hours notice where feasible. Scheduled maintenance is typically arranged for late in the day where feasible to not disrupt school students.

To ensure that equity schemes and scholarship applications are submitted correctly, applicants are required to click ‘Save/Submit’ at the bottom of the ‘Equity schemes and scholarships’ page. An application is not submitted overall if applicants only click ‘Save and continue’ under each category. The ‘Save/Submit’ button will also enable any statement of support requests to be emailed out.

Each time an applicant makes an edit to their equity schemes and scholarships application, they need to ensure they click ‘Save/Submit’ on the first page so that the new changes are submitted. If not, an error message will appear, ‘You have unsubmitted changes. Click Submit on your access and equity application page to confirm’ on their VTAC account homepage.

Applicants may receive an email that states ‘one or more documents you provided were rejected or we require additional documentation’. As per the email, these documents have either been rejected or we require additional documentation. To find out what is required,

  • Please log in to the VTAC account and head to the ‘Providing evidence’ page.
  • What you need to supply will be under the ‘Evidence required’ section. If applicable, you can view the ‘Documents rejected’ section to understand any reasons for rejection.

The following essential requirements will be listed under an applicant’s checklist on the VTAC account homepage depending on the courses they select, and are mandatory requirements:

  • ANMAC English language declaration form for nursing/midwifery courses
  • UCAT/ISAT tests for medicine courses
  • Casper test and/or ACU Teacher Selector Statements for initial teacher education courses

Additionally, all applicants will see the dot points ‘other selection tasks’ and ‘upload other documentation’ once they’ve submitted a course application. These appear for every applicant, even if their chosen courses do not need them.

To understand what additional requirements may apply, applicants must follow the ‘requirements checklist’ on CourseSearch and complete those tasks.

If there are no extra requirements, applicants don’t need to do anything. The dot points will just stay grey (they won’t get a green tick).

Some applicants might see ‘Personal Statement’ as a dot point on their checklist.  We would encourage all applicants use CourseSearch to view the course requirements for the courses they have applied for. If a Personal Statement is not listed as a course requirement under the ‘Requirement checklist’ on CourseSearch, applicants can disregard it. It will not impact your chances of getting a course offer.
