What is VTAC and why should you care?

Never heard of VTAC? Don’t worry, read on to learn more about how VTAC can support you in your tertiary education journey.

VTAC stands for The Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre and is the shared admissions service that facilitates access to tertiary education and further study opportunities in Victoria.

What does that actually mean?

VTAC receive and process applications for admission into Victorian universities, TAFEs and private colleges. We also calculate the ATAR, and support students with equity schemes and scholarships, to support you getting into your dream course.

Why should you care?

If you are in Year 12, VTAC will be essential for you getting an offer to further study. You will need to create a VTAC account, list your course preferences and meet any entry requirements to be eligible to receive an offer to study at the end of your high school experience.

If you are in Year 10 or 11, it’s important to start looking at the required prerequisites for the courses you are interested in, as this will be a crucial part of your subject selection for Year 12.
